Core Capabilities
Egmatic includes four main functional sets for 2D game creators:
Visual Game Logic
You build game mechanics using a node-based editor. Connect nodes and define custom behaviors for your project, with no manual code writing required. This removes the barrier for creators with no prior programming experience to build fully functional 2D games.
Scene Editor
You design game worlds using a drag-and-drop workflow. Place objects, configure physics parameters, and view all of your changes in real time as you work. No export or reload steps are needed to confirm layout adjustments.
One-Click Publish
You can ship your completed project to Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS from a single source project. No separate per-platform setup or custom build configuration is required to deploy to any of these supported targets.
Real-Time Preview
You can test your game instantly with no waiting for build processes to finish. Any edits you make to scenes or game logic appear immediately in the preview, letting you iterate quickly and adjust mechanics faster.
Technical Foundation
Egmatic is built on .NET 9 and MonoGame to deliver consistent cross-platform performance at up to 60 FPS. The editor exports all project assets, scenes, and logic as clean, versioned JSON files. The dedicated runtime engine reads these JSON contracts directly with no shared code or tight coupling between the editor and runtime layer, which improves execution reliability.
Target Audience
This tool is built for solo independent game developers and small game development teams that want to reduce the overhead of multi-platform game publishing. It works for creators who may not have dedicated engineering resources to maintain separate build pipelines for different desktop and mobile operating systems.
Workflow Overview
You create content inside the visual IDE: build game scenes, define visual node-based logic, and import custom game assets. The editor automatically outputs versioned JSON files for all project content.
The standalone runtime engine processes the exported JSON files through a standardized contract system, with no hidden coupling to the editor environment.
You trigger the one-click publish process to generate deployable builds for all five supported platforms in a single step, with no additional manual setup required.
